Decision scheme for Carriers
The statuses and their implications for carrier procedures
✅ Green: 0A – VALID PERMISSION TO TRAVEL FOUND
❌ Red: 1Z – DO NOT BOARD REFER TO STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR UK
⚠️ Yellow: 0Z – CONDUCT MANUAL CHECK TO DETERMINE PERMISSION
Note that: Streamlane automatically classifies UK and Irish citizens as OK to Board with a green color coding but leaves the original code from the UK UPT system.

Receiving a ⚠️ “conduct manual check”
The UK UPT system sends a “Valid Permission to Travel” message ONLY when a valid ETA or eVisa is presented. A passenger may have another non-electronic – but valid – immigration document. The warning message “Conduct Manual Check” implies that carriers must verify if such documents exists. If so, you can board your passenger.
Passengers have a valid permission to travel when
- they are citizens of the UK or Ireland
- they have a valid physical Visa or any other valid immigration document
Reminder of Crew Member exception
Crew members are not typically subject to ETA or eVisa checks unless one of these criteria apply:
- they are traveling as passengers (not operating crew e.g. deadheading, positioning)
- they are operating crew but will stay more than 7 days in the UK
